INDIANA MASTER NATURALIST
The mission of the Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana plants, water, soil, and wildlife, and promote natural resource volunteer service within the state of Indiana.
Program Details
The Indiana Master Naturalist (IMN) program investigates topics in nature in the State of Indiana. Classes meet once a month beginning in March and continuing through November. The last class includes an assessment. Class meetings include a lecture followed by a field experience with hands-on learning. Those who complete the coursework and 24 volunteer hours will receive Indiana Master Naturalist certification. Program participants must be 18 years or older.
The Kosciusko County IMN program is limited to 20 participants each year, enrollment opens in January of each year.
Cost for this program is $175 per person or $250 for two people from the same household. The program cost covers all classes as well as resources for each class, including books. If the program cost is a financial barrier to your participation, please inquire about scholarships.
Indiana Master Naturalist is a program of the Indiana DNR and is locally hosted by the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District. Kosciusko SWCD won the 2019 “Host of the Year” award from Indiana Master Naturalist for hosting an outstanding program.
